The 97th birthday of Syedna Muhammad Burhanuddin, spiritual leader of the Dawoodi Bohra community, was celebrated at the Al-Molatul-Burhania, Barkat-e-Hyderi on Saturday.

The cake cutting ceremony was held after the recitation of the Holy Quraan and Naat (PBUH). The programme was chaired by the chief guest Shaikh Shabbir Bhai Jamali, President of Al-Mohallatul Burhaniyah, while Shaikh Abbas Bhai Udaipur, was also present on the occasion. The programme was organised by the Anjuman-e-Muhammadi and Barkat-e-Hyderi Trust which was attended by a large number of community members.

During the function, a beautiful tableau was presented by the school children. An interesting quiz programme was also held. Later, gifts were distributed among the successful candidates and other children.

The programme concluded with a beautiful fireworks show which was appreciated by the attendants. Shaikh Shabbir Bhai Jamali delivered a speech on the occasion in which he appreciated the organising committee and hoped that this type of programme will continue next year.
