Abidi nominated as PPP city party president |

Co-Chairman of the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), Asif Ali Zardari, has nominated Faisal Raza Abidi as the party’s city president. He will replace Rashid Rabbani who was appointed as adviser to the chief minister Sindh for political affairs.
The party chief issued the official notification on Thursday and stated that the post was vacant after the resignation of Rashid Rabbani
Faisal Abidi is a young businessman and also the General Secretary of the Electronic Traders Association Karachi. He is a party worker and contested the election for a National Assembly seat from Karachi in the 2008 elections.
He will be the 15th city PPP chief. Earlier, Abdul Hafeez Pirzada, Abdul Sattar Gabole, Maulana Ehteramul Haq Thanvi, Allauddin Abbasi, ND Khan, Ameer Haider Kazmi, Iqbal Haider, Iqbal Yousuf, Masroor Ahsan, Taj Haider and Muzaffar Shujra had held this post. Rashid Rabbani had served as city president of the PPP three times. |
