The City District Government Karachi (CDGK) has invited tenders for the installation of informatory, regulatory and warning signs as well as cat eyes on the city’s main arteries and along Signal-Free Corridor-II. Only private equity (PE) registered firms in appropriate categories and international traffic safety companies and partners in the joint venture, which should be specialists in the manufacturing of international standard devices confirming to ASTM specifications, have been asked to apply for contracts. Under the project, costing Rs550 million, these regulatory signs and cat eyes will be fixed at various important points of corridor-II from Surjani to the airport to facilitate vehicular traffic. The CDGK has invited applications both as technical and financial proposals by August 11. It is worth mentioning here that the construction work of the Signal-Free Corridor-II has entered its final stage of completion. Out of five flyovers, Sohrab Goth, Jauhar Morr and Askari-IV flyovers have already been completed. The remaining work, including the construction of a loop at the Nagan Chowrangi flyover and Gulshan Chowrangi flyover, are expected to be completed by August 14. |
