Additional EDO Revenue, Matanat Ali Khan, has directed all Drawing and Disbursing Officers (DDOs) to speed up action against the profiteers and impose fines on those found guilty of overcharging.
Meanwhile, the magistrates of the CDGK fined 88 shopkeepers Rs226,600 on account of overcharging in different parts of the city while six shopkeepers were sent to jail after they were caught red-handed.
The spokesman of the CDGK has asked the citizens to refrain from paying excessive amount for milk, flour and other utility items and to register their complaints in this regard with the concerned DDO Revenue so that strict action could be taken against all those involved in profiteering. |
