Death row prisoner dies in central jail |

A man facing death row at the Central Prison Karachi died of cardiac arrest on Wednesday evening. According to the jail authorities, the deceased was identified as 35-year-old Fazal Karim, who was sent to jail on February 12, 2004, in rape-cum-murder case. After trial, he was sentenced to death on January 17, 2007. During imprisonment, Karim fell ill and was admitted to the jail hospital, where doctors said that he was having some throat problem. On Wednesday, he was seriously ill and died of cardiac arrest during treatment. The inquest report was made and the body was handed over to the heirs of the deceased. |
