The Election Tribunal (ET) of the Sindh High Court (SHC) issued a notice to the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) and Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) MNA Mir Ijaz Khan Jakhrani, on an election petition filed by a rival candidate against the election in NA-208 Jacobabad.

The election petition was filed by Pakistan Muslim League — Quaid (PML-Q) candidate, Fahad Malik, who alleged that polls in his constituency had been rigged by the PPP candidate, MNA Jakhrani. He requested the court to set aside the ECP notification and declare him as the returned candidate.

The ET, headed by Justice Dr Qamaruddin Bohra issued notices to the respondents after the preliminary hearing of the petition. In another election petition, Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) candidate Sheikh Mohammad Feroz, challenged the election result of PS-89 Karachi, in which PPP candidate Akhtar Hussain Jadoon was declared successful.
