The University of Karachi (KU) has approved the conferment of 24 PhD degrees. A KU spokesman said the approval to this effect had been accorded by the University’s Board of Advanced Studies and Research (BASR).
Those who would be receiving the PhD degrees are: Abdul Farhan Khan (Applied Chemistry), Aziz-ur-Rehman (Arabic), Uzma Ahmed (Clinical Psychology), Khalid M Younus (Islamic Learning), Tahira Kaukab (Islamic Learning), Rafia Taj Qadri (Mass Communication), Naveed Iqbal Wasri (Mass Communication), Rezwana Khan (Microbiology), Mehr-un-Nisa Aziz (Pakistan Studies), Munir Anwar (Pharmacognosy), Abdul Jabar Shah (Pharmacology), Dr Asif bin Rehman (MD) (Pharmacology), Seema Shamim (Physiology), Summer Sultana (Political Science), Azra Anjum (Political Science), Imamuddin (Quran & Sunnah), Syed Asif Raza (Quran & Sunnah), Ayub Rohadi (Quran & Sunnah), Ghulam Rasool Dahri (Social Work), Ehtesham Hussain (Statistics), Yasmin Sultana (Urdu), Muhammad Shoaib (Zoology), Shahida Perveen (Zoology) and Rizwana (Zoology).
The candidates who would be conferred MS degrees are: Dr Asma Nazar (MBBS), General Surgery (DUHS); Dr M Ishaque Soomro (MBBS), General Surgery (JPMC); Dr Ghulam Mustafa Vardug (MBBS), Neurosurgery; and Dr M Younis Sabrani (MBBS), Orthopaedic Surgery (DUHS). As many as 28 candidates would be conferred MPhil degrees, it was further stated. |
