The prices of essential commodities such as pulses, ghee, oil, rice, beans, gram (Qabli) Red Gram Flour (Basan) have been reduced by wholesalers. Retailers are, however, adamant to sell these essential commodities at the rates earlier announced by the City District Government Karachi (CDGK) E&IP group of offices.
Some retailers of vegetables and fruits are also not abiding by the list, noted Sindh Minister for Bureau of Supply and Prices Syed Shoaib Ahmed Bukhari, in a letter sent to the District Coordination Officer (DCO) Karachi quoting press reports in this regard on Monday.
“You being the controller general of prices Karachi are required to direct your subordinates especially E&IP Group of Offices CDGK to revise the prices accordingly at once and issue lists for displaying in retailers markets,” Bukhari directed the DCO.
