Nazim offers services to assist provincial, federal governments |

City Nazim Syed Mustafa Kamal has offered his services to federal and provincial government to use his offices for the development and betterment of Pakistan, Sindh including Karachi.
Kamal said he is flexible and ready to work with anyone for the development of Pakistan. He stressed that Karachi should not be regarded as an ordinary city but an international city. He was addressing a press conference soon after returning from an official 12-days tour of America on an invitation extended to him by the US state department.
He further said that he has sent a message to the Prime Minister and the provincial government saying that the country is passing through a critical stage and cannot afford experiments.
Referring to his official trip to US, the city Nazim said that for the very first time the strategic status of Karachi is given due importance and the US state department facilitated him as a mayor of Karachi.
Kamal also mentioned that he appraised congressmen about stance against extremism and fundamentalism. City Nazim said Houston and Karachi have been declared sister cities as they have similarities and very soon, a delegation from Houston will arrive in Karachi as they have shown keen interest in making investment in this mega city. Kamal said he has also invited Mayor of Houston to visit.
City Nazim further said that the Washington DC Mayor has proposed to declare Karachi and Washington DC as sister cities. If Karachi was declared then it would bean honor for the people Pakistan and Karachi.
City Nazim said his fortnight tour was very successful where he explained authorities over there about the development projects being carried out in the city. City Nazim said promoting the image of Karachi was not being done only for this city, but for the whole country, as Karachi is an industrial hub and gateway to Central Asia and Middle East.
Mustafa said he also met Mayor Chicago Mr Dally who also showed keen interest in investing in Karachi.Replying to a question, he said he does not need any permission for investment in Karachi from federal government, till he asks them for any sovereign guarantee. |
