President of the newly formed Awami Muslim League Shiekh Rasheed Ahmed has said that the present PPP government has been left with no option but to quit after miserably failing to provide relief to the masses.
This was said by him when asked to comment on the present political and economic situation of the country. “If the present rulers did not quit on their own then the masses will topple them,” he commented.
Shiekh Rasheed was talking to The News from Lahore after returning from China.
When asked that Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gillani has blamed the previous regime for the problems confronting the country, he
said: “They (rulers) are unable to solve even their own problems so how could
they provide relief to the masses, and now they should go as they have miserably failed”.
Replying to a question that PPP’s senior leader Makhdoom Amin Fahim
has given a statement about the worsening law and order situation of the country as well as emerging differences within the party, Shiekh Rasheed said: “PPP is hanging in balance and they are only looking to gather the assets of the country through loot and plunder of the national exchequer”.
Expressing concern over the situation at borders, he said this issue has to be tackled on war footing. Sheikh Rasheed further said that he had earlier predicted that the present government would last till October or November, “but now it appears that this government would fall even before this period”. |
