| Parliamentary party moot on Kalabagh Dam today |

As some of the Sindh Cabinet members have threatened to resign over the Kalabagh Dam issue, a parliamentary party meeting has been convened at the Chief Minister House on Tuesday evening where the province’s chief executive will take into confidence the cabinet members over the Kalabagh issue, besides deciding the budget session strategy. The Sindh Assembly budget session has been scheduled for June 17 at 3.00 pm. Kalabagh Dam issue has been taken seriously by the MPAs from Interior Sindh, including Murtaza Jatoi, Maqbool Sheikh, Deputy Speaker Sindh Assembly, Jalal Mehmood Shah, Amir Bux Bhutto, Altaf Unnar and Sardar Rahim. According to the sources, the chief minister will try to explain his position regarding the dam and also the point of view of his father Abdul Hameed Jatoi and would try to persuade them for devising a viable strategy for the Sindh Assembly session. These MPAs have already given their comments and demanded from the chief minister to give a clear opinion about his position on the Kalabagh Dam issue. Sources disclosed that the chief minister had assured all these members, who met him at the Chief Minister House that he will not compromise on Kalabagh Dam and will safeguard the interest of the province. |
