Rehabilitation centre gets Rs100,000 grant |

The Rehabilitation Centre for Multiple Handicapped Children (RCMHC), Lyari Town, has received grant of Rs100,000 meant for the facilitation of disabled children, after the intercession of Ombudsman Sindh, Asad Ashraf Malik.
Taking notice on a complaint registered by the former secretary, Managing Committee RCMHC, Abdul Majeed Mandi, Ombudsman Sindh called out Executive District Office, Community Development Department, CDGK, and directed him to resolve the matter on the priority basis, said a statement issued on Sunday.
The EDO, Community Development Department, CDGK, informed the Sindh Ombudsman that the said amount had already been transferred to the bank account of the RCMHC and as far as the purchasing of necessary articles for the rehabilitation centre was concerned that has also been done through the store department of CDGK.
He said that the pick and drop service for the disabled children of RCMHC that remained disturbed due the ongoing Lyari gang war has been resumed and the vehicle meant for the purpose was being used for the pick and drop service again.
The children attached to the rehabilitation centre were facing lot of problems due to the sluggish response of the officials of the Community Development Department, CDGK in releasing the grant of Rs100,000. The management of RCMHC expressed their gratitude to Ombudsman Sindh for his prompt action. |
