There are several ngos working in Karachi rightnow. Among them some are working for the handicapped, some for mentally retarded and some for the other special children of our community. I want to bring the attention of the concerned authorities towards the use of the funds collected by these welfare organizations.
Do you think that all the money collected in the name of funds and aid is being accomodated in the welfare and benefit of these organizations? If you think so , its totally wrong. If you take a survey of these places, youll get to know that some of them are not even provided with the required stuff and needed machinery. This is because the concern officials or volunteers are not sincerely utilising the donations properly. Although carrying the name of "Welfare Organization" some of them have kept membership charges, regardless of the financial status of the patient. And when they will call for donations , theyll never forget to mention "free treatment to the needy and poor!" That is unjust and unfair. I have myself visited many places. The orphanages are quite sincere and devoted to provide better infrastructure, but as far as the rehabilitation centres and the other so called ngos are concerned , it is hopeless...... Running an ngo has become a business in our world today. Some of these organizations have even started there own profitable businesses on the government donated plots ,like the marriage gardens, the schools and colleges and tuition centres etc., and have rented there premises, thus affecting in the services they can give to the patients and the poor.
I request the government authorised officials to check and visit all such places and keep an eye on these ngos , which are taking enough donations but not benefitting the poor with that donation. Every year the frauds and funds are covered with a clean and proven audit . The old members of such places should be inquired about the level of treatment given by their ngo. Then one can get the actual working status.
I hereby, thank you all for giving a second thought for those who cant help themselves. God has made us for helping each other.
