Sindh National Front, Chairman, Mumtaz Ali Bhutto said that the reconciliation ordinance has caused great damage to the nation trampling the law and justice for which cases could be registered under treason charges against those responsible for it.
“And the day will come when such treason cases would be registered,” he said in a statement issued Monday. “To get himself re-elected, President Musharraf withdrew scores of cases of murder and plunder against the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) and Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM),” he alleged. “Had he recovered the plundered wealth from these elements instead of forgiving them, at least some jobs could have been provided to the unemployed youth and the wheat flour to the poor at cheaper rate.”
Mumtaz Bhutto lamented that even the ‘People’s Government’ failed to launch any operation against terrorists, criminals and drug peddlers in Lyari who have made the people of that area hostage.
“The police contingent deployed in Lyari was called back the next day leaving the people at the mercy of the gangsters,” he said. Commenting on Asif Zardari-Altaf Hussain meeting in London, SNF chief said that the people of Sindh would question the PPP co-chairman that was he mandated to bow to the plunderers and murderers and give them share in power. |
