Vigilante action in Korangi: are we seeing a new trend |

Joint action by police and area people in Korangi helped catch two suspected street robbers Thursday evening.
According to eyewitnesses, people waiting for passenger transport at a bus stop in Sector 48-F-1 in Korangi were being looted by three armed robbers riding a motorcycle.
While the robbers were attempting to flee the area after their looting spree, some people at the bus stop managed to catch hold of one them, and subjected him to a thrashing.
The area police on patrol also reached the scene and were able to get hold of another suspect on the motorcycle. Their third accomplice managed to flee the scene.
The Zaman Town police later arrested both the suspects identified as Muhammad Azad, s/o Abdullah, and Saeed Alam, s/o Kabir Ahmed, and recovered from their possession a motorcycle and two TT pistols.
The Zaman Town police was interrogating the suspects and were in the process of lodging criminal cases against them till the filing of this report. It is worth mentioning here that Korangi incident took place just a day after enraged people on Nishtar Road ‘burnt alive’ three suspected house robbers. |
