Thousands of students appearing in Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) examination being conducted by the Board of Intermediate Education Karachi (BIEK) were stunned when they found Zoology questions in paper-II of Botany on Friday.
The PPI received a number of telephones from the students and parents complaining that the sections of Question 2a (I) and VI MCQs were taken from chapter 13 of the Zoology book. The question No.3, seeking brief answers was also taken from chapter 9, Biotechnology. Several confused students left these questions.
When contacted, the Botany professors confirmed that some questions in the paper were taken from Zoology having nothing to do with it. Usually, senior teachers prepare the paper and a senior most teacher supervises the process, but it seems that this paper has been prepared by a junior teacher and no senior professor supervised it, they observed. |
