  • ½ tin Condensed milk
  • 80 gms. Butter
  • 250 gms. Dates
  • 85 gms. Maida (plain flour)
  • ½ cup Walnuts
  • ½ tsp. Vanilla Essence
  • ½ tsp. Soda bi-carbonate
  • 1 tsp. Baking Powder
  • For the custard sauce
  • 2½ cups Milk
  • 3 tbsps. Sugar
  • 1 heaped Custard Powder

InstructionsInstructions  1. Remove the seeds from dates and chop them. 2. Soak in 5 tbsps. of water with ½ tsp. of soda for 4-5 hours or overnight. 3. Sift maida with baking powder, add dates and walnuts to the maida. Mix well. 4. Beat condensed milk and butter well, in a clean pan. 5. Add the maida mixture to the condensed milk mixture, add the essence and beat well. 6. Bake in a preheated oven at 150 º C for 50 minutes. Keep aside. 7. Prepare custard sauce by dissolving custard powder in ½ cup milk. 8. Heat the remaining 2 cups of milk with sugar. When it boils, add the custard powder, stirring continuously. 9. Cook for a few minutes till it coats the back of the spoon. 10. Serve the pudding with hot custard sauce.
